FAQ & Business

🎨 About Neesedraws

Hi! I'm Neese — a fine artist and illustrator who specialises in traditional painting, particularly watercolour. I have a background in Fine Art and years of experience exploring materials like pencil, ink, gouache, oils, and digital tools. But watercolour has become my heart medium: it allows me to express mood, atmosphere, and storytelling in a fluid and layered way.

I draw inspiration from many places: classical art, manga, emotion, narrative, and the quiet beauty of fleeting moments. My work sits somewhere between semi-realism and imaginative fiction, often focused on character expression, symbolism, and atmosphere.

Each painting is created with care, from concept to final touches. I also offer fine art prints of my original paintings, which are professionally scanned and printed on archival paper. Many customers have said they look just like the original — something I take as the highest compliment!

💌 Commissioning My Work

I do accept commissions — both from personal clients and brands — but I handle them differently depending on the context.

If you're an individual looking for:

  • A personal portrait or gift

  • A painting of your character (OC/fanart)

  • A custom watercolour piece for display, or keepsake

Then I invite you to use my Personal Commission Form.

https://forms.gle/doLRY79LnvR1hshg9

It helps me understand your idea, and gives you space to ask questions before committing.

Prices vary based on:

  • Size (A5, A4, A3, A2, etc.)

  • Complexity (headshot, full body, background, etc.)

  • Number of characters or details

  • Style requested (realistic, manga-influenced, stylised)

I’ll reply with a quote, timeline, and additional details.

Please understand I work with care and attention. Good things take time, but you’ll receive something that has heart.

🔒 What I Allow (and What I Don’t)

All existing works — including anything already painted, shared on social media, or sold as a print — are fully owned by me. I do not:

  • License or redistribute existing artworks

  • Sell or share digital copies of original watercolours

  • Permit any third-party to reprint or resell my work

If you're asking as a customer: your painting is for personal use only, not for reproduction, alteration or commercial use.

If you're asking as a brand: I'm open to collaboration, but it must involve me creating a brand-new piece specifically for your project (such as book covers, album art, product design, etc.).

You will not receive digital files of my existing watercolour paintings under any circumstance. Digital files are only provided if the project is custom-made (new work) and we’ve agreed in writing that it will be digitised for a specific commercial use.

This ensures both artistic integrity and transparency. Please respect this boundary.

📝 Business & Brand Enquiries

For all business, brand, and publishing enquiries, please use my Business Enquiry Form.

https://forms.gle/DYmxPSBS43o8hUfZ8

This form is designed to:

  • Help you present your project professionally

  • Avoid vague or non-transparent proposals

  • Allow me to assess timelines, intent, and expectations clearly

You’ll be asked to describe who you are, what the artwork is for, and what kind of collaboration you're proposing. Please be honest and clear. I do not respond to weak or vague briefs, or requests that show a lack of respect for artists' rights.

If you're looking for:

  • Artwork for a book, product line, or promotional campaign

  • CD or music artwork

  • Brand illustrations (makeup, fashion, etc.)

...then I may be open to working with you — as long as the artwork is created fresh, with specific terms of use.

🎨 Will You Teach or Share Tutorials?

Thank you for your interest! Right now, I’m focused on developing my body of work and keeping up with commission demand. However, I do try to share my process through:

  • Speed painting videos

  • Work-in-progress posts on social media

  • Behind-the-scenes content

In the future, I hope to offer:

  • Online tutorials

  • Process breakdowns

  • Possibly a Patreon or YouTube series

Teaching is something I care deeply about and want to do properly when I have the time and energy. For now, please stay connected on my platforms for glimpses into my process.

🔹 Materials FAQ

Q: What materials, brushes, or paints do you use?

A: I use professional-grade materials from a variety of trusted art brands. I don’t rely on one brand or one tool—I use what suits the piece I’m working on. Quality always comes first, not the name on the label.

I get asked this a lot by fellow artists with shiny, inquisitive eyes, hoping I’ll reveal some secret “killer combo” that magically unlocks better results. But here’s the truth: your tools will not make you a better artist.

It’s your self-discipline, your willingness to experiment, and your ability to learn from mistakes that matter most. It's about how many times you're willing to erase and redraw that sketch, how many tests you do on a separate sheet to learn how to achieve a certain painting effect. Great materials can support your work, yes—but they can’t replace the hours you put into practice.

If you're a customer, rest assured I use high-quality, artist-grade materials for lasting results. If you're an artist asking for tips—remember, the magic isn't in the tools. (And no, no one has asked me what brand of water I use yet. Maybe that’s the secret ingredient... 😉)
