Questions & Answers

FAQ

I'm Neese — a fine artist and illustrator specialising in traditional watercolour. Below are answers for private customers and for business or brand enquiries.

Do you take personal commissions?+

Yes. Browse the commission listings and choose the one closest to what you have in mind — each listing shows size, complexity, and price up front.

What affects the price?+
  • Size (A5, A4, A3, A2 and up)
  • Complexity — headshot, half body, full body, background
  • Number of characters
  • Style requested
Can I use my painting commercially, or share it as a digital file?+

Purchasing a print or commission grants personal enjoyment and display only — not the copyright. Reproducing, distributing, modifying, or reselling isn't permitted, and unauthorised use is actively monitored.

Will I receive a digital file of my commission?+

Not as a matter of course, to protect the integrity of the work — but I'm happy to consider individual requests case by case, so feel free to ask.

Will my commission have your signature on it?+

Yes — every piece of custom artwork includes my signature as standard practice. If used on a derivative product, it will also carry credit to me and my website. Good things take time — please allow the quoted turnaround for your piece.

Do you offer tutorials or teaching?+

Not currently — I'm focused on commissions and my own body of work, though I share process clips on social media. Tutorials are on the someday list.

What materials do you use?+

Professional-grade materials from a range of trusted brands — I choose what suits each piece rather than sticking to one brand.

Where are the frames from in your product photos?+

Unique, handcrafted antiques from my personal collection, gifted to me — not for sale, and I'm not able to share where to find similar ones.

Do you work with brands?+

I'm open to collaboration, but only where it involves creating a brand-new piece specifically for your project — book covers, album art, product design, and similar.

What should a brand enquiry include?+
  • Who you are and what the artwork is for
  • What kind of collaboration you're proposing
  • Timeline and intended use

Clear, professional briefs get a response.

Can we license existing artwork instead of commissioning something new?+

No — any commercial collaboration has to involve a brand-new piece made specifically for the project, with terms agreed in writing beforehand.
