Welcome to NeeseDraws — the online studio of an independent artist creating original watercolour artwork inspired by the worlds, characters and stories that have left an impression on me.

My work combines the expressive qualities of traditional watercolour with the visual language of anime, gaming, fantasy and contemporary illustration. I’m particularly interested in creating artwork that feels more like fine art than conventional merchandise — detailed, atmospheric and designed to be enjoyed as artwork in its own right.

Every piece begins with me, working traditionally by hand.

There is something special about creating artwork with physical materials: the movement of the paint, the texture of the paper, the tiny imperfections and the decisions that happen throughout the process. Those qualities are an important part of what I love about traditional art, and I try to preserve that feeling throughout everything I create.

My Artistic Approach

My work sits somewhere between traditional fine art and modern fandom culture.

I'm fascinated by the way people connect emotionally with fictional characters, stories and imaginary worlds. Rather than simply reproducing those subjects, I enjoy interpreting them through my own artistic style — experimenting with composition, atmosphere, colour, expression and traditional painting techniques.

For me, fan art is an opportunity to take something familiar and look at it differently.

Alongside fan-inspired work, I also create completely original artwork, allowing me to develop my own characters, worlds and visual ideas without the boundaries of an existing universe.

Whether a piece is inspired by a story I love or comes entirely from my own imagination, the goal is the same:

to create artwork that you genuinely want to live with.

Traditional Watercolour

Unlike digitally produced artwork, my paintings are created using traditional watercolour techniques on artist-quality paper.

The process can involve many stages — from initial sketches and composition studies through to layers of transparent colour, detailed rendering and final adjustments.

Watercolour is a medium that requires patience. Once paint touches the paper, there isn't always an easy way to undo it. Every layer affects the next, and sometimes the most beautiful parts of a painting happen through decisions that couldn't have been completely planned beforehand.

That unpredictability is part of the reason I love it.

It also means that the original artwork is genuinely hand-painted by me, rather than being a digitally generated image made to look traditional.

From Original Artwork to Fine Art Prints

I offer both original paintings and fine art prints, allowing my artwork to be enjoyed in different ways.

My prints are produced with particular attention to paper quality and presentation. I use premium, textured cotton-based watercolour paper chosen to complement the appearance of the original paintings.

The intention is not to create something that feels like an ordinary poster or mass-produced print.

I want a print to retain something of the physical character and presence of the original artwork — something that feels at home in a personal art collection, rather than simply filling an empty space on a wall.

Art Inspired by the Things We Love

A significant part of my work is inspired by anime, manga, games, fantasy and other fictional worlds.

These subjects have been a huge part of my own creative journey, and I love seeing how strongly people connect with them.

My fan-created artwork is my own artistic interpretation and execution. I don't claim ownership of the underlying characters, fictional universes or intellectual property belonging to their respective rights holders.

What belongs to me is the artwork I create — my interpretation, composition, painting and artistic execution.

That distinction is important to me, particularly as an independent artist working within fandom communities.

Beyond the Studio

My work isn't confined to the online shop.

I regularly take my artwork into the real world through Artist Alley events, conventions and other creative events, where I get to meet the people who collect, enjoy and support my work.

There's something completely different about seeing someone stop at a table, pick up an artwork and spend a few moments looking at it in person.

Those interactions are one of my favourite parts of being an independent artist.

They also remind me that artwork isn't simply something that exists on a screen.

It can become a gift, part of someone's collection, something displayed in their home, or simply a little piece of something they love.

Why NeeseDraws?

NeeseDraws is intentionally independent.

There isn't a large production team behind the artwork. The artist, artwork and creative process are all connected.

From developing an idea and painting the original, to preparing artwork for print and packing an order, there is a genuine person behind what you receive.

I care about creating work that feels considered rather than disposable — artwork that someone can discover, connect with and hopefully keep for a very long time.
