I'd love to occasionally paint characters that I haven't otherwise had the opportunity to create.

With this special Character Request option, you can suggest a character you'd like to see interpreted in my traditional watercolour style. If I accept your request, I will create the artwork and provide you with a print of the finished piece.

⚠️ Please Read Before Purchasing

This listing requires artist approval and must NOT be purchased before you have contacted me and received confirmation that your request has been accepted.

This is not a standard custom commission.

It is a limited, artist-led option that I occasionally offer to customers who would like to see a particular character interpreted in my style.

Every request is considered individually, and I reserve the right to decline a request based on:

• my artistic direction;
• personal interest;
• current workload;
• suitability for my portfolio; or
• whether the character is appropriate for this particular service.

Purchasing this listing without prior approval may result in the order being cancelled.

🛒 How to Request a Character

Please contact me before purchasing and tell me which character you'd like to request.

To qualify for this service, one of the following must apply:

A. You are a returning customer who has previously purchased from my shop;

B. You are a new customer purchasing this listing together with at least one existing art print of the same size;

C. You have previously purchased a print from me in person at a convention or Artist Alley.

If you're unsure whether you qualify, please message me before purchasing. 💌

The process is simple:

1. Contact me with your character request.
2. Wait for confirmation that I've accepted the request.
3. If you're a new customer, purchase this together with the qualifying existing print.
4. Purchase the Character Request in your chosen size.
5. I'll create the artwork in my own style and according to my own artistic direction.
6. You'll see the completed artwork before your print is dispatched.

⚠️ What This Listing Is — and Is Not

✔ This is:

• A "I'd love to see this character in your style" request.
• An opportunity for me to create a character I would like to explore artistically.
• A creative interpretation led by the artist.
• A print-based purchase — the original painting is not included.

✘ This is NOT:

• A custom commission.
• A personalised artwork service.
• A request for a specific pose or composition.
• A request involving character interactions.
• A request for multiple characters.
• A request for a specific scene or detailed background.
• A recreation of an exact reference image.
• An opportunity to direct or revise the artwork.

If you would like control over the composition, pose, characters, setting or other artistic details, please use one of my custom commission services instead.

🎨 Artistic Direction

This option works because you are asking me to interpret the character in my own style.

You provide the subject.

I create the artwork.

I decide the:

• pose;
• composition;
• expression;
• artistic treatment;
• level of detail; and
• overall visual direction.

Reference images are welcome to help me identify the correct character or version, but I will not create a direct copy or reproduce a specific image on request.

The finished artwork may therefore look quite different from what you initially imagined.

This service is best suited to customers who enjoy my artwork and are happy to trust my creative process.

🦋 What You Receive

You will receive:

• A high-quality print of the completed artwork.
• The print size selected at checkout.
• An original artwork created and painted by me.

The original painting is not included.

If I decide to make the original available for purchase separately, this may be offered at my discretion.

⏳ Process & Timing

Character Requests are given lower priority than my regular commissions.

The applicable dispatch timeframe is stated on the listing and represents the timeframe within which I expect your order to be completed and dispatched.

You will be able to see the completed artwork before it is dispatched.

Please note:

No revisions or progress updates are included with Character Requests.

Once I have accepted the request, the creative decisions remain with me.

⚠️ Eligibility & Purchase Limit

This is a limited service intended for:

• returning customers;
• customers purchasing it as a complementary addition to an existing print; or
• customers who have previously purchased from me at a convention or Artist Alley.

Other exceptions may be considered where previously discussed with me.

Maximum two Character Requests per customer

This service is limited to two purchases per customer in total.

This means:

• You may purchase this listing a maximum of two times.
• Once you have used both requests, no further Character Requests may be purchased.
• The limit applies regardless of how much time has passed between purchases.
• Additional purchases beyond the limit may be cancelled.

This limit exists to keep the service manageable and to ensure that it remains a small, occasional offering rather than becoming a substitute for my commission services.

💡 Important Notes

Please keep the nature of this service in mind when making your request.

Existing artwork

If the requested character already exists as artwork in my shop, I may decline the request.

This service is intended to give me the opportunity to create something new rather than recreate artwork I have already produced.

Creative freedom

I may decline requests that are too specific, complex or restrictive for this type of service.

Requests involving detailed scenes, multiple characters, specific interactions, elaborate props, exact poses or other requirements that effectively turn the request into a commission may be refused.

If your idea requires this level of control, my commission services are the appropriate option.

This is a goodwill offering

This service is intentionally offered on different terms from my regular commissions.

It exists as a small gesture of appreciation for my customers and an opportunity for me to explore characters that interest me creatively.

It is not intended to provide a fully customised artwork at a reduced commission price.

💛 A Little Note From Me

I created this option because I genuinely enjoy hearing which characters people would love to see me paint.

It works best when there is mutual trust:

You choose the character, and I get to decide how I bring them to life.

If you're happy to give me that creative freedom, this can be a really fun way to discover something completely unexpected.

If you're looking for a fully personalised experience where you can specify the composition, pose, characters, setting or other details, I'd warmly recommend one of my custom commission listings instead.

Thank you for supporting my artwork and for respecting the boundaries of this little service. ✨
